Lightwave is a worldwide pioneer, and an early adopter of DIRECT solid state technolgy. This technology has caused an almost overnight obsolesence of the water-cooled ion laser. We currently offer up to 34 Watts of full-color solid state projection OUTPUT -- brighter than an 80 Watt or larger ion system. Gone are the hoses, pumps, huge power requirements, hefty shipping costs, and technical complexity. Our new systems plug into a standard outlet, are similar in size to a video projector, and do not require any water cooling. Our new systems have an amazing paper-white color balance, and are as easily rigged as any other automated luminaire. Beam quality far exceeds any other laser technology, allowing for long throw projections never thought possible. Creativity is no longer limited by a facilty water main size, or electrical service rating. Lightwave is the exclusive USA distributor; quite simply, you cannot source this equipment from any other domestic supplier. This is a bold statement, but we have invested millions in this new technology instead of making excuses about why our clients should continue to use a technology that has gone largely unchanged since it's conception in the 1960's. For the technical savvy, do not confuse our lasers with inferior DPSS laser simulators. DPSS produces a beam that is inferior to even ion systems: a typical DPSS image has gaps, tails, mismatched beam sizes, and other unwanted artifacts. It's low quality output does not negate the tradeoff in utility requirements. Our systems are intrinsically redundant, often comprised of 90 or more individual laser sources. Water-cooled systems are full of single-point failures that can bring an event to a halt. |
