Ke$ha Live on X Factor US

Pop superstar Ke$ha paired with Lightwave International to debut her latest single, “C’Mon,” with a full-color laser display on The X Factor’s top 6 results show on Dec 6, 2012, on FOX. The highlight of the performance saw Ke$ha playing Lightwave’s laser harp synthesizer live on national television.

The laser harp is a real instrument that works by interacting with beams of laser light which in turn trigger synthesized sounds. The instrument is played just as a real harp, with sensors reading the position of the performer’s hands and sending data back to the synthesizer. Not only does “breaking” the beam produce notes, but sliding the hand along the beam will also change the sound.

Ke$ha performed a brief solo with the laser harp during her X-Factor US performance. In addition, an array of Lightwave’s high-powered lasers backed her during the rest of the song.

Ke$ha hit the pop scene in 2010 when her debut album, Animals, spawned the hits “TiK ToK,” “Your Love is My Drug,” “We R Who We R,” making her Billboard’s Hot 100 Artist of the Year with “TiK ToK” being named Billboard’s No. 1 Hot 100 Song for being the most played song of that year and the biggest-selling digital track in the world. She has sold nearly 3 million records, has played over 200 live shows, and scored tons of awards and other accolades.
